Transitional Fruit
Rainier Fruit Company "Naturally Grown" products are produced without the use of synthetic herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers using the best organic practices. Fruit must be farmed using biological methods of fertilization and pest control as substitutes for chemical fertilizers and pesticides for one year before they can be certified as Transitional produce by the Washington State Department of Agriculture. The "Naturally Grown" products have been packed in an "organic certified" facility.
Transitional fruit is evolving from one style (conventional) to another (certified organic). Fruit must be farmed using biological methods for three years before it can be certified as "Organically Grown".
