Sales of organic products have increased exponentially over the last decade. Rainier Fruit Company grows organic apples, pears, cherries and blueberries to meet our customers' demands and complete our product mix.
Rainier Fruit Company markets "certified organic" fruit that has been grown according to uniform standards and is certified as organic by the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Certification involves a very strict record keeping process and inspection of orchards and facilities. Synthetic agrochemicals, irradiation and genetically engineered ingredients are strictly prohibited in certified organic products. Organic farming systems rely on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and minimal inputs. The design and implementation of a plan that describes the practices used in producing crops; a detailed record keeping system that tracks all products from the field to point of sale; and maintenance of buffer zones to prevent unintentional contamination from adjacent conventional fields are all necessary components for organic farming.
Rainier Fruit is committed to supplying safe, wholesome fruit that not only complies with industry standards, but also exceeds our customers' expectations.
