Orchards
At Rainier Fruit Company, we have strategically located our orchards throughout the best fruit growing regions of Washington State, arguably the finest in the world.
There are many varieties of apples, each with its own distinct color, aroma, flavor and texture. Just like fine wine grapes, it's very important for each variety to be planted in a microclimate suited to its specific growing needs. Our years of experience help select just the right location. Our apple, pear and cherry orchards are located from the lower Columbia Basin in the south, to the most northern on the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. This diverse growing region varies in elevation, soil composition and temperature so distinctly that we are able to select orchard sites based on the variety of apple planted.
Our on-staff horticulturalists are constantly seeking ways to improve the quality of the orchards and growing practices by applying new techniques to enhance our ability to deliver consistently high yields of quality fruit. It's not enough to just make a profit. We continually reinvest in our orchards so that the very best fruit will be available for generations.
